Company Analysis
Individual NEPSE-listed companies worked end to end against the Canon Score — a 100-point rubric across seven dimensions, added rather than averaged. Each analysis shows its working, states the date its figures were drawn, and scores valuation separately from quality, so a good business at a stretched price is never mistaken for a good purchase.
| Company | Ticker | Sector | Canon Score | Band |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nabil Bank Limited | NABIL | Commercial banking | 71 / 100 | Strong |
| Chilime Hydropower | CHCL | Hydropower | 62 / 100 | Adequate † |
† Chilime was damaged by the Bhotekoshi flood of 26 August 2026, one day after this analysis was completed. The score below reflects the company as it stood beforehand. See the notice on that page.
Nabil Bank Limited — 71 / 100
Nepal’s oldest continuously operating private commercial bank. Perfect marks on liquidity, strong sector durability, and a governance record that is good without being spotless. The binding constraint is valuation: it trades at roughly 1.3–1.5 times the sector on both earnings and book value.
Chilime Hydropower — 62 / 100
A 22.1 MW run-of-river plant commissioned in 2003. Flawless dividend discipline, but a single completed plant has a hard growth ceiling, and the royalty step-up at year 16 reshapes the cost base on a fixed calendar in a way most retail models never account for. The plant was damaged in the 26 August 2026 Bhotekoshi flood and generation halted; the analysis predates that event and has not yet been rescored.
Both analyses apply the framework built across The Investor’s Canon. The generic seven-dimension rubric is Chapter 64; the sector-specific adjustments for banks and hydropower are Chapter 65; what the finished number does and does not tell you is Chapter 66. The full worked case studies are Chapters 83 and 84.
